Our story began in South Africa, where we embarked on one of our most ambitious undertakings transforming a long-abandoned ruin into a boutique guesthouse of elegance and calm. What was once crumbling stone became a haven of tranquillity and rest, every detail thoughtfully crafted. The design was infused with the playful curves and vivid colours reminiscent of Antoni Gaudí, blending artistic flair with architectural integrity. This project was more than just a renovation; it was the moment we discovered our true passion breathing life into forgotten places and creating spaces with soul.
When the opportunity arose to move to Portugal, we were drawn instantly. The country’s ever-evolving architecture, rich heritage, and growing demand for quality renovations felt like the perfect match for our vision and expertise. Here, every project tells a story from the restoration of timeless stone farmhouses in quiet villages to the design of sleek, modern retreats overlooking the Atlantic.

How We Work
At SoTinta, we believe a successful renovation is built on trust, transparency, and care. From the very start, we keep you updated on the progress of your project, ensuring you always know what’s happening in your space. Whether it’s through videos, photos, or regular updates, we make sure you feel part of the journey, even if you’re far away.
For clients who are not residents of Portugal or don’t live in the property full-time, we often recommend starting the project while you’re away. Portuguese homes can create a lot of dust and disruption during construction, and we’ve found it’s more comfortable for you if we carry out the work in your absence. This way, we can focus fully on the transformation, while you return to a finished, refreshed space.
Throughout the process, your home is treated with the utmost respect. We handle every detail carefully, and before you step back inside, we make sure the house is thoroughly cleaned and ready to enjoy.
